History
The Clifton Haunted Trail began in 2001, and continued uninterrupted until 2006, when a powerful storm knocked out the main bridge. The trail resumed in 2007 after the new bridge across Pope’s Head Creak was repaired. Weather hampered the trail in 2008 but in 2009, the Clifton Haunted Trail was rated by local reporters as one of the scariest and most entertaining haunted trails in Northern Virginia.
More than 150 volunteers bring the haunted trail to life (or death) every October. It requires many months of advanced planning from a tireless committee of volunteers. This has become a “must-do” annual event for anyone who wants a good scare!
